Pleasant Run Golf Course came into existence in 1922 and was located in an area known as Irvington. In those days Irvington was a prestigious community and this prestige has carried onward to modern day, as Irvington is a community of much significance. Golf began growing in popularity in the 50's, and Pleasant Run grew and improved to meet the new demand for golf courses. People began to identify Pleasant Run as Irvington Country Club; a title which some old timers still use when referring to the golf course. In the 1950's and 1960's, Pleasant Run was the site of statewide Pro-Ams which brought in some of the state's finest professionals and amateur golfers. Presently, Pleasant Run has hosted many Indianapolis Men's City Amateur's, Indianapolis Junior City Amateur, and the IGA State Public Links Championship. On June 7, 2008 we will host the 54th annual East-Side Amateur.
